Friends in Washington, DC, have strongly recommended increasing the pressure on the Chinese government to require the truth about kidnapped Christian attorney Gao Zhisheng. Thank you for flooding the Chinese embassies around the world with phone calls on behalf of Gao Zhisheng.
I am calling on behalf of Gao Zhisheng (pronounced GOW Juh-shung), a Christian attorney known all over the world for his work defending those persecuted for their faith.
Gao Zhisheng (pronounced GOW Juh-shung) was kidnapped by Chinese authorities on February 4, 2009, and has not been seen in public since. There have been reports that he was tried and convicted for crimes against the state, and was released on parole in August. But Mr. Gao has still not been seen since his arrest.
This is a violation of Chinese law and international law.
Ambassador Zhou (pronounced JOE) has said that Gao is on probation. If this is true, why doesn’t his family know where he is? If he is on probation, why doesn’t the Chinese government tell the world where he is?
Many around the world care about Gao Zhisheng (pronounced GOW Juh-shung). We will not stop asking about him until he is released.
We are asking you to let the world know how and where Gao Zhisheng (pronounced GOW Juh-shung) is, to guarantee his right to be free from arbitrary detention and to release Gao (GOW) immediately.
We are praying for you and for the leaders of China. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
Please call as many of these numbers as possible, as often as possible.
Please do not be discouraged if your call is answered by voicemail message. Please leave a message on Gao's behalf. Also, if the message is in Chinese only, wait until you hear a beep and then leave your voicemail. If a live person answers the phone, please try to engage them in conversation and ask for information about Gao. They may try to pass you to another number, but try to continue speaking with the person on the phone.
NOTE: If you are a citizen of another country, please click here to find the contact information of the Chinese embassy in your own nation.
